    Dear Ray,

I am fairly new to google + and just loving the networking opps and sense of community for photographers. I have recently started contributing to good themes and I have the urge to create one of my own…but simply don’t know how to begin. Was hoping you might have a few pointers or could, at the very least, send me in the right direction for me to research how to start.

    Thanks for taking my email.

    Sincerely,
    Pat Corlin

Any plans on creating a 366 theme for next year?

I had not thought about at all but it could be a possibility.

    Ray,

I very much appreciate your listing my Mosaic Monday theme, but when you have a moment, would you please change the description to the one below? It seems that some people are posting photos of actual, real-life mosaics rather than photo mosaics, so I think this makes it clearer:

“Share photo mosaics (collages). Any subject: botanical, life-cycle, sequential, colors, numbers, etc. Not photos of real mosaics but photo mosaics that you create using any number of tiles (panes) and any configuration. Please check hashtag for examples.
Curator Mim Eisenberg. Use #MosaicMonday tag. G+ Page.”

[Please hotlink to this G+ page:

Please let me know when you have made the revision.

    Thanks.
    Mim

    Hi Ray:
Not sure what you mean? I know it is straight forward, but am stumped on how to circle a theme.
“Very Important” Please make sure you have ‘circled’ the theme you are participating in.

    Thanks, Dave

Hi David. It is the “Theme Page” you have to put in your circles. Google does not allow a Page to interact with you unless you circle it.

      • Posted December 11, 2011 at 7:01 pm by Sassy | Permalink

Ok but how do you get to the theme page?
I click on the link with the #and name of the theme but that only takes me to some kind of search page but not the homepage for that theme. how do I circle it? I’ve noticed a few of the themes have home pages listed but not all of em.

        • Posted December 11, 2011 at 7:25 pm by raybilcliff | Permalink

Well Sassy not all of the themes have home pages, but those that do should be searchable by the name with out the # tag, try it with my page dawnonsunday enter it into the G+ search and look for ‘page’ in the results

Why no listing for Jeff Smith’s #SelfySunday- which might be G+ most popular photo theme?

    • Posted November 30, 2011 at 8:42 am by raybilcliff | Permalink

He stopped doing it. Now it is Selfless Sunday: Curated by Jeffrey Sullivan. Use Tag. #SelflessSunday.

    • Posted December 2, 2011 at 6:58 am by Paulissa | Permalink

Levi Moore does Selfy Sunday now. It is still going

      • Posted December 2, 2011 at 11:32 am by raybilcliff | Permalink

You need to get an update from Levi Moore as he made changes and asked me not to list it.

Ray, please remove waterscapeWednesday from the list. It’s a fine art theme and not a photo theme. Thanks

    Hey, Ray.

Could you update the #FidoFriday theme?

I’m no longer curating this, and haven’t been for a while (no time). Wes lum, mel peifer, and Lisa Lisa are doing it now. If you need their G+ links, have a look at a recent post of mine on my profile for them.

    Thanks!

What about trying to encourage themes that do not run every week to have specific weeks to run, (1st and 3rd *day, 2nd *4th) or something like that, trying to guess/plan which is the every-other week does get a bit tedious and error prone/ There are not many, but they do still exist.

    • Posted December 10, 2011 at 12:34 pm by raybilcliff | Permalink

You need to contact the curator of the theme for the specifics, I just make the list as they give it to me. Good luck with that.

    Hi Ray,

Just wanted to know how to get a new theme started on G+. Been toying with a few ideas for a theme. All help appreciated. Thanks.

    cheerz,
    L

    • Posted December 13, 2011 at 2:23 pm by raybilcliff | Permalink

Hi Lucille. OK it is easy to do. But first make sure it is something not all ready being done by someone else. And make sure it is a subject you know a lot about. When you decide upload a post with a photo and use your hash tag like #NewTheme so it will show up in a G+ search. Then tell me about it so I can list it for you.

Thanks for the quick response on that Ray.
I’ll do as you commanded master!

Would you like to help me curate #BuggyFriday. I would be honored if you said yes!

  12. Posted December 17, 2011 at 5:39 am by Liz Smith | Permalink

Thanks for making this list Ray. Is there some way to print it out? I have been trying to do a simple “copy and paste” but not having any luck. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks and please keep up the great work. I always look forward to seeing what new images you post.

    • Posted December 17, 2011 at 6:28 am by raybilcliff | Permalink

Hi Liz. Can you try to highlight the text and then do control ‘C’. Please let me know if it works, it should as that is how I do it to copy into G+.

  13. Posted December 23, 2011 at 10:08 am by Lars Fosdal | Permalink

Would it be possible to sort the themes alphabetically within each day?

  14. Posted January 2, 2012 at 12:30 am by elaine | Permalink

Hi Ray, Id like to suggest a theme showcasing different finds/ creations of a “heart” or “hearts”

    • Posted January 2, 2012 at 1:39 pm by raybilcliff | Permalink

You will need to select a day. And upload a photo and tag it with the hash tag so it will show up in a search. Suggestion: #HeartsOnSunday let me know if you want to go ahead with this. You should also create a G+ Page. called Hearts On Sunday

      • Posted January 2, 2012 at 11:03 pm by elaine | Permalink

yay! thanks, il take it “HeartsOnSunday”

        • Posted January 3, 2012 at 6:54 am by raybilcliff | Permalink

OK. Upload a photos and tag it #HeartsOnSunday let me know when you have done this and I can find it in search and get the link. Tag it in Lightbox and also tag it when you upload the photo. I have some leaves in the shape of hearts so I will join in. Be sure to give your G+ name for your profile.

  15. Posted January 3, 2012 at 3:44 pm by Lynn Langmade | Permalink

    Hi Ray,

I am so sorry to bother you with yet another request and I’m sure you’re getting absolutely inundated with these kinds of requests. But since I’m old school G+, I was hoping you wouldn’t be too annoyed with this request. A couple of us G+ers would love to be able to list a new photography theme on your web page. Can you help?

The theme will be called #SaturdayStyle and the one line description is: “Share a photo that represents your idea of style” We’ve also planned a shorter hashtag #SAS. The idea is for people to share a photo on any of the following topics—fashion, design/décor, architecture or art. Individuals can post a shot that represents their own individual style or of something trending or one that epitomizes a certain style from a different era, like flat graphic or gothic architecture. We think this theme will be robust enough to interest many participants. We hope you agree.

The curators will be myself Lynn Langmade and Lane Langmade.

Let me know what you think.

    Thanks :)

    • Posted January 3, 2012 at 9:34 pm by raybilcliff | Permalink

You do not need any ones permission to start a theme. What you do need to do is upload a photo and tag it #SAS so it shows up in a search and I can get a link from it. I also suggest you make a G+Page and use it to explain what the theme requirements are for posting as well as displaying images. Let me know when it is ready and I will list it for you.
